I think there's some really interesting (and useful) ideas in this bulletin

Is there anything that 'grabs' you?

sounds fun

Library of interactive maths resources

Interestingly titled collection of maths games collated by Utah state university - what is a Virtual Manipulative I asked myself!

However this is a useful collection which can be searched by both topic and age group.

n.b you need to have Java enabled on your browser to make them work.

Very easy to use

I like this site, Jude. It's nice and easy to find resources.

Well, must go - end of a busy day and I need to rest my virtual manipulatives!

Murderous maths

Has anyone tried using this site? Looks like it could be good fun!

I went to 'Dolly's rush hour' under 'Tricks and Games' and got stumped on beginner level 1. Clearly I am not a great mathematician!

Fab maths site

Was this site meant to be a recommendation for me or my pupils? Well, I loved it, especially Dolly's rush hour. Don't mean to gloat, but I did get the high score for level 3!

Murderous maths

What a very good site. I enjoyed it and the children in my class were baffled.

Glad you liked it!

Have you tried using the enrich site? It has lots of maths problems to challenge more able pupils. You can find it at http://www.nrich.maths.org/public/index.php

Maths posters

Have a look at this discussion on Creativity and Maths in the Secondary forum on the NCETM site.

Some great ideas ( and resources) using posters eg Romeo and Juliet to stimulate interest in lessons.

Romeo and Juliet and Maths?!

I had a look at this and was intrigued - what was the maths connection with R&J and the balcony?

Romeo and his ladder

If you go back to the site you will see Derek's ppt.
It's actually about Pythagoras. Romeo needing a long enough ladder...
